Part of Tomàs Cusiné’s celebrated low-intervention Pell de Llop ("Wolf Skin") lineup, the 2025 Pell de Llop Sumoll is a masterclass in reviving historic Mediterranean heritage. Sourced from high-elevation vineyards (700+ meters) in Catalonia’s rugged Costers del Segre, this red showcases Sumoll—one of the rarest, most characterful indigenous grapes of northeastern Spain.

Often likened to a Mediterranean cousin of Nebbiolo or wild Pinot Noir, Sumoll delivers pale translucent color, high-toned red fruit, bracing natural acidity, and tension-filled rustic tannins. Vinified with minimal intervention and native yeasts, this vintage captures the pure, untamed voice of the Pyrenean foothills.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Pomegranate, tart wild raspberries, and sour cherries laced with Mediterranean scrub (fennel, dried thyme, wild lavender), cracked white pepper, and wet gravel.
Palate: Vibrant and lean yet deeply expressive. Electric natural acidity drives crunchy red berry fruit, balanced by savory undertones of black tea, orange peel, and stony minerality.
Finish: Crisp, dry, and persistent, closing on chalky tannins and an appetizing herbal-saline snap.
