2023 Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Marcorino

Experience the prestige of one of Barbaresco's most distinctive Crus through the artistry of the Rocca family. The 2023 Bruno Rocca Barbaresco "Marcorino" is a profound expression of a single-vineyard site located in the village of Neive. This Cru is renowned for its specific microclimate and ancient soils, yielding a wine that perfectly balances the typical power of Neive with the hallmark elegance of the Bruno Rocca estate.

The Tasting Experience

  • Appearance: An intense and bright garnet red with shimmering reflections.

  • Nose: A dense and complex bouquet. It opens with rich notes of blackberries, black cherries, and plums, layered with the delicate, slightly withered floral scents of rose and violet petals, finished with subtle hints of spice.

  • Palate: Warm, wrapping, and exceptionally elegant. The palate confirms the dark fruit and floral aromas perceived on the nose, enriched by sophisticated overtones of cocoa and forest floor. It features firm yet polished tannins and a remarkably long, persistent finish.

Why We Love It

The Marcorino Cru is a south-east facing vineyard where the vines, some planted as far back as 1963, dig deep into unique soils. This old-vine heritage provides a natural concentration and complexity that is rare to find.

A Modern Classic: Stylistically, Bruno Rocca is a "consummate modernist," focusing on great fruit intensity while retaining the structural soul of the Langhe. The wine undergoes a long maceration of 30–40 days to extract its noble character before maturing for 12–16 months in French oak, ensuring a wine of immense depth and aging potential.
