2023 Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Currà

A single-vineyard Barbaresco that expresses the purest character of Nebbiolo from Neive. The Bruno Rocca “Currà” comes from one of the most distinctive crus of the appellation, delivering precision, elegance, and a deeply territorial expression of Barbaresco.

The Currà vineyard is defined by calcareous and clay rich soils with Sant’Agata marl and sandstone fragments, contributing to the wine’s structure, aromatic lift, and mineral tension.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Deep ruby red with garnet reflections.

  • Nose: Refined and expressive aromas of red berries such as currant, raspberry, and cherry, layered with fresh floral notes of rose and geranium. With time, subtle earthy and spicy undertones begin to emerge.

  • Palate: Linear, precise, and well-structured. Silky yet firm tannins provide definition and elegance, supported by vibrant acidity. Flavours of fresh red fruit evolve into floral and mineral nuances, leading to a long, persistent, and balanced finish.

The Currà Vineyard

The Currà cru is located in the village of Neive within the Barbaresco DOCG zone. Its soils composed of calcareous clay, Sant’Agata marl, and sandstone give Nebbiolo a distinctive combination of aromatic purity, finesse, and structural depth, making it one of the most expressive vineyards in the appellation.
