Castello Romitorio

error

Castello Romitorio is committed to the study, exploration and promotion of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG wines. The estate was founded in 1984 by Sandro Chia, who planted vineyards using the indigenous Sangiovese that is typical of Montalcino. Today, these plantings comprise about half of the vineyards at Castello Romitorio and offer enormous heritage of biodiversity.

In 2006, Sandro Chia’s son Filippo Chia began the second chapter of Castello Romitorio’s history with a new cellar and series of beautiful new vineyards of Sangiovese that slowly took shape. Today, these Sangiovese vineyards span an altitude of 200-400 meters, from the top to the bottom of the hill.
